That's probably not a very noble reason to want a feature, but it would allow us to use gcc as the compiler, and yet generate the proprietary .d43 format from the assembler, so that we could use IAR's debugging GUI to debug larger C applications. So far I've been lazy and haven't even attempted to use the gdb-proxy and/or insight solutions. - Mike
