I am not sure of anyway to do that either but I haven't looked into it in a
great deal either. All that I do know is that SCUP makes MSP detection very
easy and it would be awesome to use that in the Application Model but my DCR
was just closed so...

how do you do that? I do not see how to get the detection rules out of the msp
file.

Correct you can import them into scup but no app model... The configmgr client
is the same way.

and you can import them into SCUP?

The detection logic is built into the msp just like an msi. It would be nice
if we could import an msp in the console similar to that of an msi and have it
pull the detectoid information out so we can use the native app model for these
types of updates.

As an example Adobe Acrobat updates are MSP's which would be a great candidate.

Thanks for the reply.

+1

The # 1 reason for SCUP I have at the moment is MSP detection which isn't
available in the app model yet... I have submitted a DCR to add MSP Detection
logic to CM 201* so if you feel that would be a great addition go vote it up!

CU2 for CM12 SP1. Easiest install I've ever done: to servers, consoles, and
clients, all at the same time.
