[mssms] Shared dongle for OSD

Hi folks
I know that there was a thread the other week where someone was trying to OSD 
to Surface devices with dongles which were shared.
I didn't file the thread away and of course now I need to do almost exactly the 
same thing!
Would some kind soul let me into the secret of how to crack this one please?
