If the System Center session, lab & BOF content is the same or better than MMS then I am fine with attending TechEd. I attended TechEd in the 20th century and enjoyed it. I would prefer Las Vegas to Houston, but for me the content is most important. If the content is good then lots of System Center users will attend and in addition to the content there will be opportunity for talking with people that have similar interests and issues.

Would you go? Would you prefer something totally new, framed like the MMS of “old”, put together by the community at large? It contains a large number of “true Texans”, but they are outnumbered substantially by normal “outsiders.” And those “true Texans” are generally still nice people. Downtown Houston could pass for downtown LA. On second thought, maybe that’s not such a good comparison – maybe it would be better to say that it smells better than New Orleans… Thanks, -Michael From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Roland Janus Sent: Tuesday, October 1, 2013 4:17 PM To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Subject: RE: [mssms] OT: MMS "absorbed" into TechEd 2014 All that applies to Vegas also, with less heat, but, how do I say that, hmm, there are less Texans there ☺ I’ve met two from Fort Worth I work with, they are nice, but they do fulfill the cliché… ☺ I liked New Orleans. There’s a chance the weather will be pleasant in May. There’s also a chance that it’s above 40 Celsius ☺ And thunderstorms are likely. It’s about the same, weather-wise, as New Orleans, Orlando, and Atlanta. On the positive side, the food in Texas is really good – New Orleans might be better (except for barbecue), but Houston is right up there. Book your hotels early if you want to stay downtown ☺ Otherwise, you’ll get to experience the famous Houston traffic first-hand. Oktober 2013 20:31 To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Subject: RE: [mssms] OT: MMS "absorbed" into TechEd 2014 There was little overlap in the attendees for both events, so it was convenient to use the same content for IT pros attending both events. While in earlier years the number of sessions at TechEd allocated to System Center, MDT, community, etc. was smaller than at MMS, the last few years it’s been pretty much the same session allocations. So there hasn’t really been any “watering down” for TechEd. We’ll let everyone know when the TechEd call-for-content goes live. It was interesting last year because the session submissions were rather lopsided: A few topics had lots of interest, a lot of topics has light interest. So people got grumpy when their sessions were declined, while others had multiple sessions accepted. My suggestion: Branch out and submit topics for broader topics ☺ Thanks, -Michael From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Rod Trent Sent: Tuesday, October 1, 2013 10:34 AM To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Subject: RE: [mssms] OT: MMS "absorbed" into TechEd 2014 TechEd has had the same MMS content for a couple years already.
