I just create msi packages using Wise Packqge Studio with the rdp shortcut in
the appropriate all users profile section.

I use autoit executables for things like this.

I avoid copying shortcuts made on one machine to another. I’ve had some bad
experiences with that process in the past and so now I always create shortcuts
on the target – previously using SMSInstaller and now with AutoIt.

It works with IE shortcuts as well. I had a folder full of them for my images
dev.

Hi Niall,

Thank you for your fast reply.

You mean, creating a separate package for example:
\\SCCMServer\Packages$\Applications\DesktopTools\Files2Copy<file:///\\SCCMServer\Packages$\Applications\DesktopTools\Files2Copy>

In Files2Copy folder ...copy the .rdp shortcut

And then create a program for example: Copy files to all Desktop

Using the command line: filecopy.bat C:\Users\Public\Desktop

Something like that maybe..

Is also possible to publish IE shortcuts with this method too ?

Cheers.

have you tried...

creating the actual shortcut, then copy that file to a package and deploy it to
the desired user profiles desktop

Hello,

Anyone know a smart way of deploying a RDP Shortcut using SCCM 2012 ?

RDP Shortcut target should look like this: mstsc.exe /v:192.168.1.1

Thank you.

Regards.
