One thing to keep in mind, as Garth was saying, with increased load on SQL you my also increase the chance for data loss. Especially, since it seems the CM12 site isn't in Production yet and I'd assume its load is lite.
How did you find the data inconsistency? I am just not sure why this would be happening. Are there additional SQL maintenance tasks that could be run daily to keep the Db healthy? But it is fair logical to assume that if you are not getting enough IOPS then the system should be slow and you might see timeout, if you see timeout then it is possible to lose data. If it was me, I would push my roll out dates until I’m happy that my setup is running fine. If you are losing data now and there is no one on the system, I would hate to see what happened when the system is under load. I would consider setup the server to do load test, particularly HD IO testing. Johan did a CM IOPS blog post, I would run the test that he suggest and see what results that you get. Also keep in mind that you mind need to run these test at various times of day. To trtuely get an understand of your system. BTW Johan would love to hear your numbers. http://www.deploymentresearch.com/Research/tabid/62/EntryId/115/Sizing-your-ConfigMgr-2012-R2-Primary-Site-Server.aspx http://be.enhansoft.com/post/2013/10/25/What-IOPS-Do-I-Need-for-Configuration-Manager.aspx Garth Jones Chief Architect www.Enhansoft.com<http://www.enhansoft.com/> [Description: Description: cid:image001.jpg@01CC63FB.974F4EC0]<http://www.enhansoft.com/> Enhancing Your Business [Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: cid:image004.png@01CD5E19.F3C3A110]<http://be.enhansoft.com/>[Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: cid:image005.png@01CD5E19.F3C3A110]<https://twitter.com/enhansoft>[Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: cid:image006.jpg@01CD5E19.F3C3A110]<http://www.facebook.com/EnhansoftInc>[Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Enhansoft's YouTube Page]<http://www.youtube.com/user/Enhansoft/videos>[Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: cid:image007.png@01CD5E19.F3C3A110]<http://myitforum.com/myitforumwp/community/groups/enhansoft/> From: listsad...@lists.myitforum.com<mailto:listsad...@lists.myitforum.com> [mailto:listsad...@lists.myitforum.com] On Behalf Of Kent, Mark Sent: Friday, December 27, 2013 10:14 AM To: mssms@lists.myitforum.com<mailto:mssms@lists.myitforum.com> Subject: RE: [mssms] SQL errors Nope, it is local. As the site is not in production yet (it will be in a week), there hasn’t been much of a load on it yet so it’s hard to tell if there are/will be performance issues. Could lack of higher IOPS cause delays in read/writes that would cause this? The servers are on VMWare and Dell Equalogic disk arrays. Twice now we have had Db consistency errors, requiring repairs with data loss (the site is not in production yet either). Is there something that I could check or adjust to keep this from happening? Our SCCM2007 site (on Server 2008, SQL 2008…on VMWare and Equalogic) is not having this problem. Thanks.
