Can anyone explain to me why you cannot install Windows 7 x64 to a computer
with Native UEFI enabled with Secure Boot off? Or at least it appears that way.

I am attempting to boot from a Windows 7 SP1 x64 DVD on an EliteBook 9470m
Folio using an external USB DVD. I boot up using the UEFI option and can
confirm that it boots up correctly. However when the Windows 7 logo appears it
freezes and will not continue.

A similar issue occurs if I attempt to deploy Windows 7 SP1 x64 using
Configuration Manager. I can boot up into my Win PE 5.0 x64 environment and run
my task sequence, however when the laptop reboots after downloading and
overlaying the wim file it freezes again.

This thread talks about what I'm seeing:
