You can have both. Cloud and Internet facing DP. Whether you should or not is a different question.

One important fact to keep in mind is that clients on the Internet do not use boundaries for anything. They essentially use hard-coded MPs, DPs, and SUPs. So, I have no idea how cloud DP use would fall into this (if at all). Also remember that even if it does work you still need an Internet facing MP and SUP. Won't it pick the nearest site, which would most likely mean the local subnet? If the nearest site is unavailable it will only go to an available fallback status point which is usually the Primary Site. Anyone know the official statement from Microsoft on this topic??? Where are my MVPs at?! :) Brian ________________________________ From: michael.dzikow...@ally.com<mailto:michael.dzikow...@ally.com> To: mssms@lists.myitforum.com<mailto:mssms@lists.myitforum.com> Subject: RE: [mssms] Is it possible to have IBCM and Windows Azure Cloud? On setting up IBCM site system in the DMZ and Windows Azure Cloud? I want to be clear here are the specifics. In other words, is it possible to have a SUP/DP/MP in the DMZ for HTTPS communications AND a Cloud Based Distribution Point? How would the client know where to go? Seems like you would only need one or the other. ________________________________ From: michael.m...@1e.com<mailto:michael.m...@1e.com> To: mssms@lists.myitforum.com<mailto:mssms@lists.myitforum.com> Subject: RE: [mssms] Is it possible to have IBCM and Windows Azure Cloud? Here's a valid question. Can you use a DMZ/IBCM server and Windows Azure Cloud DP? To me, this isn't making any sense. How could you possibly use both? How would an internet client know where to go from one in the DMZ to the one in the Cloud?
