Method #3 requires the least thought about the scenario and the fewest tweaks; 
you always let Windows decide what drive letter to assign to the OS partition, 
and Windows always picks C:.

I have a scripted version of the registry edits available through Keith's blog

That makes method #3 really simple to implement, just add one simple step to 
your task sequence.

Method #3 would be a fix for that guy who was having problems with drive 
letters and his refresh TS + DaRT Recovery Partition maybe, was a while ago now.
