We are running System Center 2012 Configuration Manager SP1 CU3 (5.0.7804.1400). We have a single primary site server and a couple of dedicated distribution point servers in one of our data centers. We also have dedicated distribution point servers in several other locations. In general the same 250 GB of content is on all DPs and the servers are VMWare virtual machines.
What is the best practice for backup and recovery of the remote DP servers? Should we backup the content library on each DP to a local backup in each location? Or in the case of a remote DP failure should we just rebuild the server and resend the content from our data center over the WAN? Or something else? What do you do?
