I am just looking for some open discussion/advice from users that have remote
offices they need to support for image deployment.

We are starting to have remote offices, which have no IT users so things for us
need to be as close to automated as possible. We are using SCCM 2012 R2 and
have 2 Distribution Points created in those areas.

I am just wondering what some of you can offer as advice or things I should be
weary of when working with remote offices. It is not something I have done
before so I am curious how to approach this.

I have been tasked with ensuring we can image laptops in these locations. As it
stands without an IT presence we are utilizing a 3rd party to do the desk
setups and to likely kick start the PXE boot process for us, then from there I
need to make it work :)

Is there any good videos, books that are particularly of interest for this type
of project.

My current situation in the HQ is we do PXE, but the techs need to answer some
questions (PC Name, enter join domain credentials, add the machine to the
proper OU). Some of this I can likely get away with, the only challenge is the
PC Name as we use asset tags and we never know which one is on which machine
(in these remote locations) so I cannot add the machine ahead of time (at least
not until I have a formal process)

Thanks ahead for any advice, or what you do now, challenges, things to look
for... I know each company and site is different, but any info retained can be
evaluated.

Thanks,

Kevin Johnston
