This is over twice that number. Plus, there’s a LOT of eateries in the downtown area. You don’t have to eat conference food like you did being stuck at the event center in Chicago last year. MSFT counts on offloading meals every year, which is why they spend a lot of cycles promoting local restaurants. Consider, too, that Microsoft doesn’t intend to make money off the conference. This is free marketing for them, so they’ll save costs where they can. Makes a lot of sense for a conference this size.
