Content including updates does not come from WSUS in ConfigMgr so neither blurb
is applicable to ConfigMgr. All content comes from DPs in ConfigMgr including
updates.

Subject: [mssms] SUP WSUS BranchCache and Delivery Optimization

Can anyone correct me if I am wrong?

These 2 articles are leading me to believe that you need to disable Delivery
Optimization on Win10 in order for the content transfer to fall back to
BranchCache when using Configuration Manager BranchCache enabled DPs and
Content created from a software update point.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/update/waas-branchcache
“In Windows 10, version 1607, the Windows Update Agent uses Delivery
Optimization by default, even when the updates are retrieved from WSUS. When
using BranchCache with Windows 10, simply set the Delivery Optimization mode to
Bypass to allow clients to use the Background Intelligent Transfer Service
(BITS) protocol with BranchCache instead.”

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/update/waas-delivery-optimization
“WSUS can also use BranchCache for content sharing and caching. If Delivery
Optimization is enabled on devices that use BranchCache, Delivery Optimization
will be used instead.”

Thanks All,
Jay
