Well, I put check boxes on the list items (LVS_EX_CHECKBOXES) and from what I read, 
the way to make a check box NOT show up for a particular item is to use 
ListView_SetCheckState, passing in a zero for the state.  SetCheck() only checks or 
unchecks the box.  I want to make some check boxes disappear.
