Back in December of 2001, dev/null wrote an article about debugging in release mode. This article has served me well for many years. In that article, dev comments about known bugs in the Maximize Speed optimization.
Dev, or anyone else, can you elaborate on these bugs? What MSVC service pack was this referring to?
IIRC it was with SP5 applied, but I'm not very sure.
I am currently reviewing issues within some of the code at work and I would like this information to better support a suggestion to get away from Maximize Speed.
As a general rule of thumb I've always tried to stick with Minimize Size (it actually optimizes the speed as well, because of generating less instructions.)
