do any of you use cisco vpn dialer and also mcaffee products?
there are some very fun errors and whatnot that you will get unless you
tweak startup items in the registry

MS seems to promoting IE6 as a full version now... Windows Update certainly
has it listed that way. I too had the nasty problem with IE and having an
older scan engine version. That was cleared up as soon as I ran the latest
SuperDat file on those PC's. Wouldn't it be nice if they notified you that
a new virus definitions update required the new engine? These problems
specifically seem to be related to IE6... I've had the same issue with the
preview and the "real" version, although my preview version did not elicit
the errors my boss is seeing.

My problems were not strictly applicable to ver 6.0..they happened in ver
5.0 too..a bigger problem since that is the prod version.

I'm not sure how much support you're going to get on IE6 already. Isn't it
still considered a "Customer Preview"? (Don't you love the different names
Micro$oft can come up with for "beta"?) McAfee may tell you that they
aren't supporting their product interaction with beta products. That's
always an easy way to get off the hook.

I too had numerous problems..however after updating the engine to 4.5.1
these problems have disappeared....also worth noting ..i have posted an
email to Mcafee support..no answer as yet.. SURPRISE SURPRISE!!

No problem specifically with the IE Preview, but ALL SORTS OF PROBLEMS with
IE and McAfee in general. They seem to have an extreme aversion to one
another! All sorts of Exception codes being thrown. It's one of my biggest
banes.

Anyone else having trouble with MacAfee and IE6? The problem has to do with
WebScanX crashing when Win2000 starts once IE6 has been installed. If you
try to restart the program, it just goes nowhere. Just wondering...

Thanks!

Matt
