Puh-Lease... That's was Novell's theory in the past. Pretty much has no
merit anymore... YMMV...

I've been a Novell person and I'm a MS person. We happen to have a mixed
environment here. Soon we won't, as I will be doing a full blown W2K
migration to get rid of Novell. Thus far all it has done is cause
headaches...

The plan is not to migrate all of our NT servers, but to migrate those that
will utilize Novell's file and print services [which have been heralded to
be faster and more stable than NT]

Well let's ask this question. You have two equally functional network
operating systems. One of the Operating Systems is owned and developed by
the future OS monopoly with unlimited resources to toss into research and
development plus every third party software company in their pocket. The
second is owned by a once OS giant who has no where near the R&D funding,
nearly no third party support, and one foot in the grave. Not to mention
that every new idea the later has is quickly and quietly appropriated by the
prior.

We may all have a heartfelt feeling for the little guys who been accosted by
the big guy. But, when it comes to my paycheck and supporting my family
I'll stick with the guy who's going to offer the most support, and the best
chance of having a job in 5 years. Personally I'd like to build on the
knowledge I have right now for the future, not start from scratch.

If you're already running Novell servers it's a different story but in my
opinion migrating from NT to Novell is a frivolous, dangerous, and costly
experiment. It is truly amazing that Novell has made it this far...

Just my opinion.

I know that this isn't typical fare for everybody, it may even be considered
blasphemous by some..but, what is the general consensus on Novell's NetWare
6? Our shop is NT, but we are thinking about switching over some of the
resources to Novell [Remote access, print server etc..]I have done some
preliminary testing in our lab, and I have to be honest....it looks pretty
good **gasp** Win2k be damned?
