WinXP home edition by any chance? If not why not add the computer account from the XP machine itself?

The domain controller is a NT 4.0 server. I have added a computer name in server manager, and I have account names setup, but for some reason, every time I try to login to the network I get a message on XP saying "Either the domain controller is not available or your computer account could not be found." When I click on the computer under server manger, NT4 says" Their was a trust relationship failure between this workstation and the primary domain server." What's up? I've had win95, win 98, win Me, WinNT and Win2k on the NT4 server without a hitch, so I'm pretty surprised that there should be a problem now. Any suggestion?
