It has never done this in the 4 years we have been using NT. I know it is normal if it can't access the netlogon from the PDC that it will get it from a BDC... I am on the same local network as the PDC... where as it is loading it from a BDC which is over a WAN. It should not load it from there unless there is some sort of problem.
Something is definitely not kosher here. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, October 09, 2001 9:47 AM To: MSWinNT Discussions Subject: RE: Accessing the incorrect NETLOGON for the login script thats normal behaviour..if you want to verify against a particular DC try using netdom to create a separate secure channel -----Original Message----- From: Greg Saunders [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 09 October 2001 14:35 To: MSWinNT Discussions Subject: Accessing the incorrect NETLOGON for the login script Hey folks, I have 4 servers total with each server separated by a WAN. One of the WANs is a T1 and the other 2 WAN's are ISDN. The servers are NT 4.0 with SP6a and fixes. I am at the PDC location... When I login I see that my login script is running from one of the remote servers. I have verified that it is happening with several computers I have tested. Instead of running from \\PDCServer\NETLOGON it keeps running from \\BDCServer1\NETLOGON . What could cause this to happen?? The PDC is fully available... we can ping it, we can share the drives... we can pretty much do anything with PDC, but the logon script keeps running from the NETLOGON share of one of the BDC's. Any ideas? Thanks Greg Saunders - IT Analyst The Branch Group, Inc. P.O.
