Depends on how you define better. The TI99-4A had better hardware but TI
had no clue how to market it so the support wasn't there. Hell I'd love to
have a Ferrari but if there's only one type of gas for it, only found in
Milan Italy, what good is it? I'd rather have a Trans-Am which I can fill
up at any corner gas station.

Same thing went for the Amigas and MACs, better graphics and sound but no
support. I will take the support over graphics and sound any day.

Oh my GAWD! I was ROTFLMAOPMP!!! This was the best thing to walk in to
read this morning. Definitely started the day out right after having to
deal with Tier 2 folks who don't know that troubleshooting is actually a job
requirement.

Ok, let's sum up:
        Fruit drink
Tried to repair - different act (Must have moved into Act Two after
Intermission, which I obviously missed cuz I would've gotten some Junior
Mints if I had heard it was Intermission)
Terrence's computer fell in a forest and no one heard it. Did it
actually happen?
The peanut gallery chimed in and started with speculations as to
someone's demise while dictating (Ok, not quite like that, but close)
Someone tried to get real and answer the original question. (What
was it again?)
Terrence wouldn't answer, lending credibility to the demise issue.
Some got thirsty and started pondering liquid refreshments.
Someone thought maybe giving Microsoft NT to Afghanistan would be a
good form of Cyber Warfare.
We diverted all the way back to the days of glory when DOS reigned
supreme.
Somebody brought numerology into the picture and exposed Microsoft's
connection with Miss Cleo and service packs.
And now we are all waxing poetic about the old days of 5 1/4 "
floppies and Chicklet keyboards.

Anything else we'd like to throw into this thread??

How about IBM DOS 2.1 running on an IBM PCjr with 128k of Ram, 1-5 1/4" Low
density floppy... :-) That's where I learned DOS and BASIC...

Oh, the days when a discopy would take 8 swaps... :-)

It's hard to crash a non-existent OS. Perhaps you meant 4.01.

Besides, 4.x was a buggy gift from IBM. DOS5 was much better.
