Set your firewall the tightest rule as possible i.e open the said ports but set the exact destinations and sources where you want to permit traffic to and nothing else this will prevent anyone unauthorised from probing the ports. Also change the community string from public and not to your company name very common mistake and uses SNMP v2 as the communication is encrypted if possible.
