In august 30, I tried to translate from Japanese
to English small parts of articles published by
ZDNET and PC Watch, forwarded by Grauw. None of
those parts had any mention to ASCII Corp, and
the only thing said about MSX3 is that it would
be developed in Swiss. But some angry person sent
me a personal e-mail message calling me a liar,
that I should never have said that ASCII was
going to release a new MSX. I know I never said
that, but if I was in any way misunderstood, let
me clarify: I never said this and I have absolu-
tely no way to check an information like this,
therefore I'm no authority to say what ASCII should
or shouldn't do about MSX (except as an MSX fan,
of course ^^). That person also said that I must
study Japanese, and though I agree with him/her in
this matter, I also feel compelled to note that I
never said my translation wasn't good or very exact.
I'm just an usual student trying to help.
Then, to the bottom line:
- I never said ASCII will release a new MSX3;
- I'm not a professional translator.
The curious about this is that the person reads the
MSX list but never writes. Unless he/she gives me
permission to this, I'll not disclose his/her name
for aethics reason. He/she also pointed one of my
(possibly many) translation mistakes, which follow,
without author's permission.
My translation, with cuts for clarity reasons:
"[it] has (...) and GFX9000 cartridge inserted in
its expansion slots. A PHS may be connected to the
RS-232C, (...) HDD (...) may be connected to the
SCSI interface (...).
His/her translation:
"I saw MSX which has hard disk drive, harddisk
... connected, with PHS connected in RS232C. One
of the cartridges is GFX9000 cartridge from Gounda."
What I said later, which that person didn't tell
me how wrong it is, but it may have errors:
"This is the first computer having an internal
GFX9000. The VDP V9990 will likely be adopted in
the MSX3 in an 'on-board cartridge', and this is
said to be developed in Swiss".
Thank you very much for you patience.
