Gradiente Experts have versions: 1.0, 1.1, Plus and DDPlus. The difference between 1.0 and 1.1 is the character table and keyboard layout (and some hardware differences, but not really important). Plus has additional software in ROM, and DDPlus has internal disk drive. The Plus series have a custom chip instead of PPI, VDP and Z80 (I'm not sure), and the DDPlus have RAM in an expanded slot. AFAIK, the Hotbits had two versions, 1.1 and 1.2. The 1.2 version was slightly faster and for some reason many games didn't work. > Well I believe (which is the physiolophy of MESS) that an emulator should > as closely resemble the original machine -- so not a "super-msx". I have nothing against a super-msx. :) But then, I'm just an egoistical person... ^^ > > 2) Country ID (by patching the mainROM) > It should support all the different BIOS roms, that's the way I want to do it. I think you can get some Brazilian ROMs at the BRMSX website, and probably in MEP too. > > 3) MainRAM slot > I want to have a "memory layout" menu, which will do all of this. Groovy! > In which slot is the ram on the brazilian machines? It depends; in the Expert, RAM is in slot 2. In the Hotbit, RAM is in slot 3. This memory setup led to something interesting: the Expert was able to run Game Master without much trouble; with MegaRAM in slot 3, you only needed to load the game into MegaRAM, loading Game Master in the RAM and voila. > > 4) SCC/SCC+ slot (future: for Snatcher/SD Snatcher) > Definately.
