MSX... to design/build it from scratch.

Hi there,

I'm new to this list, but not to MSX-es. I do have a question however:

Has anyone of you ever tried to design and build an MSX-system entirely
from scratch? I'm thinking of it, though I'm not sure about the likeliness
of success. I'm sure I'll need other people to help me with that as well. 
 
I'd be very grateful for any input on this.
