If you want to access funet, you can either do that as a registered user,
in which case you have to enter a valid user name and a password, or
as a guest by using 'ftp' or 'anonymous' as username and your email address
as password.  You probably want to do the last, as that's what 99% of
the web-surfboards like Internet Exploder and Nutscrap do for you.
The password has to look like a normal email address, i.e. has to contain
a '@'.  What you could try is type 'ftp ftp.funet.fi' at a command prompt
and enter 'anonymous' as user name and 'hello@there' as password.

If that works, (and I'm pretty sure it does) you'll have to figure out why
the program you use to ftp, doesn't give out the proper info to funet...
