The fact that it displays fine in opera doesn't make it correct HTML. The good thing about correct HTML is that you don't have to check it with any browser, since it will work in all of them (as long as they keep to the standard, but they usually do). So if it validates, you can even visit the page with w3m (a text mode browser) and not have any problems.
