Well, if I'd seen the demo I could probably tell you how it was done. Usually spectacular tricks are either done by using a multitude of screensplits, or by using the VDP's pattern-based screen 4 mode. In the case of horizontal parralax scrolls there are basically three options: 1. use copy's (like in the SD Snatcher intro demo, rather slow), 2. use the v9958's vertical scroll register with screensplits (downside is that it you need at least an MSX2+ or equal computer), and 3. use a combination of copy's and the horizontal adjust register with screensplits. The latter can be done on a standard MSX2 but is quite tough to program, and it has flipping borders unless you use sprites to mask them, and you have to use the VDP's copy potential to the max, but this is made more difficult because you can't change r#18 while a copy is being executed, and... well, it's not the easiest task to accomplish :). But if I remember correctly I think Almost Real used that method for its multilayer scroll part. Anyways, I like the idea of writing such tutorials for the MAP, but at the moment I've got very little time to do that. I think I'll write some once the summer vacation has started. A little patience :). ~Grauw --- Ushiko-san!
