Hi Enrico, Patriek replied your question already, but here are some notes from my hand: >>- with Meridian, can I manage also MBM files and use the Music >> Module keyboard? > > AFAIK you can't use the Music Module keyboard (yet). > Meridian does import MBM music, I think...
Patriek is right. Problem with the Music Module keyboard is that it is not a MIDI keyboard so it can't generate MIDI IN interrupts. Another problem is, I don't have such a keyboard to test routines that should support that keyboard. (but I do have the technical specification about it) >>-Meridian supports only Midi and Moonsound? In this case can I >> save songs in MBM? (with some limitations in instruments, of >> course). > > No, you can't save in MBM. MBM format is too limited. No indeed. You can only load MBM songs, but the converter still contains some little bugs. >> I'd be great if in the future Meridian will become the main >> application to write music in all formats!!! > > An application to write music in ALL formats is strange. > Moonblaster can't save FST files either, but it can load them. > Even Moonblaster for Moonsound doesn't save in normal > Moonblaster format! > > Still, because OPL4 is OPL1 (Music Module) compatible you can > only use OPL1 functions and create a converter for .MER to .MBM. > I don't think Meridian will support this natively. (At least I > wouldn't bother with it if I was Michiel :P) The original purpose of Meridian is to write music in a more professional way. I mean the music can be so complex that replayer claims too much processortime. In that way the music can't be used for game or demo purposes.
