Hi all,

I little update about Meridian 3.0. A lot of change has been made and especially
in the Opl4 part of Meridian. The MIDI-IN functionality in the Opl4 tone, program
and drum editors is almost finished. The following MIDI messages are recognized
and immediately applied to the Opl4:
- Note on with velocity (velocity level scaled within the volume)
- Note off
- Pitch bend (!!!!) including the pitchbend range (1..12)
- Sustain pedal
- Pan controller
- Program change (nice feature: opl4 program will change on the screen when
  receiving this message)
- Volume change

When setting FM channel select to 18 FM2 channels, a total of 42 Opl4 channels
(24 PCM + 18 FM) are used. This is enough to let the Opl4 sound like a full
qualified synthesizer module. And it does!!! Even the Z80 is fast enough to
process all the received MIDI IN data, without any data loss on all 42 Opl4
channels.
When creating Opl4 programs that holds 3 PCM tones and 2 FM tones, it
sounds really, really fat. Especially when presetting the the pan left and
right in combination with detunes.

Other improvements:
- New Opl4 frequency calculation for PCM and FM. The problem of bad
tuned instruments is solved (eg piano sounds..)
- CD directory problem fixed
- and a lot more...

'So, when can I download this version?'
Well, after fixing some nasty bugs, I hope to put the version online in about
2 weeks.

Gtx
