Sorry for the late reply, wanted to take a look at the game. Hey, I can't open any vertical barrier either - only some horizontal ones, but I thought something special was needed. I could never open them neither when I played in my real msx nor now, another copy in emulator. There are only 2 sorcerers I'm able to rescue, one at "above the mansion" other at "behind the cellar", and there are many items that I don't know what they're for...
