SCOPE

There are a wide range of standardization efforts and standards from the
International Organization for Standardization (W3C), the World Wide Web
Consortium (W3C), the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA), the
Translation Automation User Society (TAUS), ASTM International, LT-Innovate,
and other organizations. These standards impact efficient exchange of
resources, including translation memories, terminologies, lexicons, etc.
between tools and in some cases between different technologies. They also
impact the evaluation of MT and the in some cases, the definition of MT
contracts. This workshop reviews the types of standards available, the
opportunities and potential problems with these standards, and means of
becoming a part of the community developing standards.

TOPICS

We solicit descriptions of work on standards, including the development or
review of standards relevant to MT. Topics may include but are not limited to:

-  Annotation standards

-  Metadata, including language and dialect codes

eXchange, Lexical Markup Framework, and Translation API Class and Cases

-  Additional efforts to provide clear information exchange
