This weekend and next there is going to be a light display on Simonside:

The organised walks are all booked up, but I'll try and find out what the
route is for the best vantage points. It says starting the car park down by
the river with a steady climb, so I take that to be up cememtry bank, past
the tower, through grumpy farm to the cup and ring rocks? Walks start at 5.
