That is a pain - especially for a long lua script, note that you can
copy the lua part with the clipboard to/from a separate text editor,
which might be helpful whilst you try and reproduce this issue. By the
way, what type of Mudlet item was it, which of a
trigger/alias/button/timer/key or script?

Title:
Script content lost when moving to a new/different folder

Status in Mudlet:
  New

Bug description:
  Version 3.0.0-iota, macOS Sierra (10.12.3)

I had a script in one folder/group and decided to move it to another
folder. The contents of the script did not appear in the editor, but I
did notice that the script appeared to be working as intended. I saved
the profile and restarted Mudlet and at that point, the script stopped
functioning and the contents appear to be lost completely.
