I thought it was a definite penalty when I saw it. When SKY showed it from 4 or 5 different angles, it was clear that Pongolle had touched the ball first and Ferdinand had nudged him over. Howard got something on the ball to stop the ball falling favourably to Pongolle who might have had the presence of mind to nudge it in when prostrate on the floor. Talking about Howard, he made a good save from Kewell's shot and came out well to deflect the ball away from Le Tallec when he was one-on-one. His kicking at times looked slightly dodgy but apart from that, looked very solid. > our > favourite goalkeeper: he sent the ball straight to Giggsy whose first- > time volley (yes, volley) was blasted straight back toward goal. I'm one of Forlan's biggest critics but I must say that all the good chances we had today, he was involved in the build up. He closed down Dudek for Giggs' long range effort. Forlan crossed from the left to Ruud but Traore managed to make a last gasp clearance. Giggs' first goal was due to Forlan and Ruud being in the box, causing confusion. Forlan hit a great first time cross for Giggs' 2nd goal. > mins of United pressure and ended with Poll chickening out of giving > Spit Diouf a second yellow card for leaving a deep bloody gash on > JohnO's shin. Diouf should have been sent off for that. Consistency! Diouf could have had no real complaints if he was sent off. Or am I just biased?!? > it looked like a certain goal, but the Liverpool player slipped > and saw the ball bobble out harmlessly. Say, who was that masked > stranger? It was Imbecile Heskey. Thank God. Anybody else would have > put the chance away. Not seen this particular incident too many times but I thought Rio was ball watching and Heskey found himself in acres of space. Heskey just slipped over and even he would have scored if he had stayed on his feet. Any win over Liverpool is enjoyable but always increases when Man City lose 3-0 at home. Chelsea manage to scrape(!) a 5-0 win. We play them in 3 weeks and that will be one hell of a match. Chelsea have the strongest squad in the league now and all their strikers are scoring. Lampard has improved a hell of a lot and is their Paul Scholes in terms of goals from midfield. A break for internationals now so let's hope all our players return unscathed!
