Susan,

Esperanto is in use as much as any known language (perhaps a bit more 
than some.)  The secret has been to find other Esperantists, and for 
that the internet was a Godsend.  Just google 'Esperanto' and you'll be 
surprised at how prevalent it is.  We use it for everything from email, 
blogs, and webpages, to YouTube, texting and SecondLife.  Even before 
the Internet we were corresponding with each other via the mails and 
publishing print books, recording phonograph records, etc.
