Hi David, For SFTP you must have SSH host keys set up. If you do not then it will not work. Examining the sshd logs from when you do have host keys set up the only thing I can see is "read error". Are the permissions on the files (e.g. /root/Applications/addressbook/addressbook.xml) ok? Can you manually SFTP to your iPaq and pull this file across?
For FTP - there is a built-in FTP server running on port 4242 for Opie. If you enable connections from your PC in the security applet then the FTP should work.
