I suspect there's something in the OZ/Opie (3.35/1.03) that's
causing problems.  One obviously wouldn't release something if
they saw it doing this.

I'm going to get rid of all my todo items on both ends, and try
to come up with a simple repeatable demonstration.

Hmm.  That's what I expected to happen.  I don't have either of
the "auto" boxes checked, but when I click "sync' both of the
status fields (the selected on and the unselected one) cycle
through various different values.  Is the unselected one really
not doing anything?
