Hi Vipul,
Thanks for the solution. It works fine if i
want to do it only once. And if i delete a cell value then that value
is deleted from the list box also. Please advise. The only problem is that
i have added the names of my clients which i want to use as list to custom list
in excel. As i want that list to appear in each time i open a excel and in the
same column only. So please can u suggest how to achieve this.

Rahul.

HI,

--Rahul
I am doing
some data capturing and storing in Excel. I have various
                columns
in which data is stored. Now in this in some of the
                columns i store company
name, address, city, state and so on.
So i want to make these some columns
as list columns so that
it will take the name from the list prefilled in
those
                cells.

Go to menu Data > Validation, On
the settings tab, Allow > select List, Then
in the source
textbox, enter your lists, e.g. Yes, No, OK. Click OK.
                Now
this cell will become a drop down list. You can copy the
                format to the cells
which require the same settings, like all
                the rows under a specific
category.

--Rahul
One
more thing is there a way to compare two excel files as we
                compare two
word documents.

You can use
                the tools Synkronizer @
                www.synkronizer.com
