hi there, hope this helps. we had the same prob i would say little days earlier we
also used disconnected recordset in our web project but it used to always have the
connections open in the sql server. we had a dll which used to invoke the connections
fetch the records in a datareader or whatever and pass it to the page accordingly so
what we did is in the functino which used to pass the datareader values had one more
argument passed but this time with a byref and we used to explicitly close the
connection in the pages -it worked
Public Sub DrGetDRExecuteReader(ByVal strQuery As String, ByRef objDataReader As
SqlDataReader, ByRef objConn As SqlConnection)
.....
End Sub
so when the function of the reader is over we used to just say objConn..close
here in the forms we just had a
Dim objConn As SqlConnection
which used to be passed around as many times we want and the rest was taken care by
our data access layer dll where the funcion was present
regards
nilesh
