Hi, I am developing an ASP.Net application in which I am trying
to connect to a ORACLE database. I am using the .NET Framework Provider for
Oracle , the code in my ASP page is as shown below. Private Sub
Page_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles
MyBase.Load
Dim oracleConn As New OracleConnection
oracleConn.ConnectionString = "user id=featuredb;data
source=TOOLDB01;password=featuredb"
oracleConn.Open()
Response.Write("Connection opened")
Response.End()
End Sub When I run this page I get the following error ORA-12154: TNS:could not
resolve the connect identifier specified
What is the reason for this error ?
I have the TNSNAMES.ORA and SQLNET.ORA in the Oracle root directory.
The TNSNAMES.ORA file has the following contents
