I recently got hold of this idea... Why not I share my goodies with all the
people out there on the net by making them access my notebook! I could have
done this easily by providing my friends with my IP address. But then comes the
problem: My IP's dynamic. And I'm not ready to pay three grands to my ISP. I
got hold of this cool feature that gives me a dns address for free and my
notebook's accessible whenever I'm online.
My FTP address is ftp://shauryaanand.ath.cx
You can logon and grab the goodies I got. I got like more than 2 GB of Ebooks
and loads of VS.NET Addins. Oh.. Did i forget to mention I got very cool .NET
components as well. :) You guys can check for yourself.
Now before I was to post this I put a test in the Banglore section and I got a
tremendous response. There was a huge commotion over the download limit
crashing whenever to or more people start the download concurrently. So now..
I've come up with this idea that only registered users will be able to download
at full band. Anonymous users can browse the folders swimmingly but when it
comes to download, their download transfer limit would only be 1KB/s.
Also as I said this FTP is actually my Notebook, you'll be able to browse only
when I'm online. So to see the next server shutdown you gotta do this: Start
Command. [RUN -> cmd] Type in ftp shauryaanand.ath.cx
