I have the USB version of the Towitoko Chipdrive Micro running under Linux.
I use RedHat 7.3, Linux kernel 2.4.18, towitoko-2.0.7, pcsc-lite-1.1.1. The
drive works both directly using the ct-api stuff as well as using the pcsc
bridge.

Apart from installing the software, the only 'extra' thing I had to do was
make the usb device writeable for the user that tries to access it.
Unfortunately I don't have my laptop with me so I cannot tell you what I did
exactly.
