Hi,

I'm having trouble getting the SCM SCR243 pcmcia card
to work and hoped someone could help me. I got the
SCR241 driver after reading that the SCR241 & SCR243
cards are identically the same.
I run pcscd (version pcsc-lite version 1.2.9-beta6)
and get the following output,

[EMAIL PROTECTED] pcmcia]# pcscd -d stdout -c
/etc/reader.conf
pcscdaemon.c:257:main debug messages send to stdout
pcscdaemon.c:230:main using new config file:
/etc/reader.conf
readerfactory.c:1055:RFInitializeReader Attempting
startup of SCM SCR243 Reader 00 00.
readerfactory.c:897:RFBindFunctions Loading IFD
Handler 2.0
eventhandler.c:155:EHSpawnEventHandler Initial Check
Failed on SCM SCR243 Reader 00 00
pcscdaemon.c:440:main pcsc-lite 1.2.9-beta6 daemon
ready.

My /etc/reader.conf file has the following entries,
FRIENDLYNAME "SCM SCR243 Reader"
DEVICENAME /dev/ttyS0
LIBPATH
/usr/local/pcsc/drivers/SCR241-v1.0/libSCR241.so
CHANNELID 1

I know that my card is loaded, I go to the
/var/log/messages and then get,
Sep 17 16:21:01 localhost cardmgr[983]: unsupported
card in socket 0
Sep 17 16:21:01 localhost cardmgr[983]: product
info: "SCR243 PCMCIA", "Smart Card Reader"
Sep 17 16:21:01 localhost cardmgr[983]: manfid:
0xffff, 0x0001

Could anyone please look at this and see if they could
shed some light on what is happening and how to solve
this.
My system is running RedHat 9.0 (linux kernel
2.4.20-8), pcsc-lite 1.2.9-beta6, pcmcia-cs-3.2.8.

Thank you in advance.

Erik
