Details:

If you choose to use:
(setq muse-file-extension nil
      muse-mode-auto-p t)

as the manual suggests to use extensionless muse projects, and you also try
to visit muse files from your .emacs files, you encounter problems because
find-file-hooks doesn't get muse-mode-maybe in it early enough.

There is really no programatic way that johnsu01 and I could think of to fix
this, so I simply wrote a quick patch to the manual to note this fact.

As you'll see in my patch, this problem is most commonly encountered when you
use the settings above and are also a planner user who does (plan) from your
.emacs.

If you have access to the IRC logs of #muse, you can see johnsu01's and my
discussion on this on Friday 2007-01-12 from around 17:30 to 18:30.
