Dan,
Deployment of Muse2 (tested with 2.0) web application on WAS6
requires additional Classloader deployment settings, due to the version
difference between the WSDL4J JAR files in the WAS lib directory and the
one included in the Muse2 web application. The Classloader mode should
be set to PARENT_LAST and the deployed object WAR Classloader policy
should be set to SINGLE. These can be done easily through RAD.

Could you provide a little more detail on how this change was made? If
this can be done without a big impact on WAS itself, that might be a
better solution than a separate module.
