Hi Leonardo, Not sure how much coverage of the academic side you have already but the Italians are mad at music tech! Some of my first encounters in this field were in Italy, at Padua University where I met folks like De Poli and they were working on cool DSP hardware, one was called "MARS" IIRC (68000 + SHARC?) as early as 1990, dedicated stuff very much like the Kyma/Capybara. Another gang I found were at the Rossini Conservatory in Pesaro, where Enrico Giuliani, Ludovico Bramant and guys like that were doing amazing analogue emulations in Csound.
