The IRS standard rate for auto milage in 2014 is 56 cents per mile for
business miles.

That shows that traveling from twenty five miles away for a 50-mile
round trip is worth 28 dollars against your caller income for the
evening, when filing your taxes at year end.

CDS Boston had a modest policy for its English Country Dance
performers to pay a modest additional amount, somewhere around $15 or
so for more distant travelers, those traveling from above 25 or 30
miles I believe. This was done because their payments were pretty
modest, in the vicinity of $60 to $70 an evening per performer.
