SUSv3 was ratified in 2004. A plus option existed for decades before
that. I'm absolutely in favor of supporting the -k option. What I don't
like is the removal of harmless backward compatibility.
Most (all?) modern non-GNU systems are SUSv3-compliant ''and'' they
support the SUSv3 notation. Be strict in what you send, but generous in
what you receive.
