What is most likely happening is that the recipient reader tries to be too
smart and interprets the message incorrectly as flowed text. You can try
adding the "format=fixed" parameter to the Content-Type: header line
(see RFC 3676). If the reader supports it, then the message should appear
correctly. If not, then there's not a whole lot more you can do, short of
switching to HTML. In any case, this is unlikely to be due to any issue
with
mutt itself.
