I tried digging up the RPM source, and I didn't find any patches that seem
to address this issue. So I'm sort of stumped. I tried the fedora mutt
binary, but it has many missing libraries, so I can't see if it would work
for me.
Back to square 1, I guess. (Unless someone else in the world besides you
and me care about this bug.)
